Page's Flag Suncatcher

This is great for 4th of July or Flag Day

Materials:

1. 2 yds clear REX lace
2. 1 soda straw - red, white, blue or clear looks nice.
3. 16 translucent blue pony beads
4. 37 transulcent red pony beads
5. 28 clear pony beads

Directions:

1. Tie a knot in one end of the Rex lace.
2. Grasp the lace about 4 inches from the knot and bend it in half
3. Stick the bent end into the first row of beads, (r c r c r b b b b)
4. Put the loop over the straw and pull snug.
5. Do That THREE more times to make the first 4 rows
6. Then put on 5 more rows (r c r c r c r c r)
7. End with an overhand knot and snip the end.
8. Take the remaining lace and thread it through the straw to form your hanger. If you want to make your flag larger and true to scale you can add beads to have 13 stripes. My flag is small scale to meet my day camp budget requirements!
